Coming Soon: Award Ceremony and Lecture Series for 2022 Tang Prize Laureates

After a five-year interval, the Tang Prize Week is returning with physical events. The 5^th Tang Prize Week, originally scheduled for September 2022, was cancelled due to constraints imposed by Taiwan’s pandemic protocols. Now, six 2022 Tang Prize laureates can finally come to Taiwan for the award ceremony on August 1 and a series of academic activities that follow.

8/1 Award Ceremony

Held at the Howard Civil Service International House, the ceremony will also be streamed live on the Tang Prize website, YouTube and Facebook page for those who want to participate online.

International Keynotes

Since its establishment a decade ago, the Tang Prize has been seeking to play an active role on the global stage, focusing especially on the collaboration with key organizations around the world in the four fields where the prize is awarded. Through interaction with notable figures in the international community, it aims to promote the Tang Prize on a greater scale and inspire more people to make a positive contribution to relevant fields

AAS-in-Asia 2023

Renowned historian and 2020 Tang Prize laureate in Sinology Professor Wang Gungwu delivered the lecture, titled “One Identity Too Many,” via video link. Following the lecture was Professor Wang’s conversation with incumbent AAS President Professor Jean Oi. This special session brought the three-day gathering to a successful conclusion.

Dr. Feldmann, 2020 Tang Prize laureate in Biopharmaceutical Science, is credited with developing the first monoclonal antibody therapy of inflammatory diseases. The drug, targeting tumor necrosis factor (TNF), is also one of the best-selling medications worldwide. His speech therefore attracted great interest.
