2012年由潤泰集團尹衍樑博士創立的唐獎,過去13年,每屆評選委員會(由世界頂尖學者、專家組成) 從得主的創新、貢獻及影響力等面向,透過專業、公正、獨立的嚴格評選過程,合計選出39位唐獎得主(含3個非政府組織),已是一個以永續發展為主軸,兼顧自然科學與社會科學的世界大獎。去年6月甫評選出第六屆得獎人,也首次針對唐獎得主的「最高學歷」及「主要學術經歷」進行詳盡分析,整理出歷屆得主間的學術淵源。
根據上述二大分析指標,統計出歷屆唐獎得主與世界頂尖的學術機構有著緊密連結。其中,尤以哈佛大學表現最為突出,共有10位得主。其次是耶魯大學、哥倫比亞大學、加州大學柏克萊分校、加州大學聖地牙哥分校(UCSD)、牛津大學等五校均為4位,緊追在後。劍橋大學有3位,排名第三;芝加哥大學、賓夕法尼亞大學、倫敦大學、大阪大學、墨爾本大學等各有2位,排名第四。
此外,各有一位唐獎得主的學術機構,以地域區分還包括北美地區的麻省理工學院(MIT)、史丹佛大學、康乃爾大學、普林斯頓大學、加州大學洛杉磯分校(UCLA)、密西根大學、德州大學奧斯汀分校、伊利諾大學厄巴納—香檳分校 (UIUC)、波士頓大學、洛克菲勒大學、匹茲堡大學、紐約州立大學石溪分校、科羅拉多大學、索爾克生物研究所、奧勒岡健康與科學大學(OHSU)、愛荷華大學、英屬哥倫比亞大學 (UBC)、蒙特婁大學、約克大學;歐洲地區則有薩塞克斯大學、都柏林聖三一學院、德國馬克斯普朗克研究院(MPI)、巴斯德研究院、賽格德大學、優密歐大學、哥本哈根大學;亞洲地區為東京大學、京都大學、新加坡國立大學和國立台灣大學。大洋洲則為澳洲國立大學 (ANU);中東地區為耶路撒冷希伯來大學(HUJI);非洲地區則有開普敦大學(UCT)和愛德華多·蒙德拉納大學(UEM)等46所世界名校,遍及全球。
哈佛大學的得主涵蓋所有四個獎項類別—永續發展、生技醫藥、漢學獎和法治獎四獎項,展現了強大的學術實力;耶魯大學在生技醫藥獎、漢學獎等二獎項表現卓越;哥倫比亞大學除了生技醫藥獎外,永續發展獎、漢學獎及法治獎等其他三獎項均有人獲獎;加州柏克萊大學則在永續發展獎、生技醫藥獎方面表現優異。
進一步分析唐獎四大獎項得主資料,永續發展奬得主與哈佛大學、哥倫比亞大學及加州柏克萊大學有最密切的學術連結,得主們在氣候變遷和永續解決方案方面進行了關鍵的研究;在生技醫藥獎方面,有5位唐獎得主的哈佛大學展現最強連結,其次是有3位得主加州大學聖地牙哥分校,而耶魯大學、加州柏克萊大學、賓夕法尼亞大學則各有2位得主;漢學奬得主分佈較廣,顯示漢學研究學者遍及全球。其中,哈佛大學、耶魯大學各有2位得主,他們在此取得博士學位或擔任教職。而位於亞洲、歐洲和北美的知名學府,包括哥倫比亞大學、芝加哥大學、牛津大學、劍橋大學、大阪大學、京都大學、國立新加坡大學、國立台灣大學和澳洲國立大學也各有一位得主。值得一提的是芝加哥大學授予2024唐獎得主許倬雲院士博士學位,亦展現其在漢學領域的領導地位。法治獎項得主的關聯機構亦遍佈三大洲,包括哈佛大學、哥倫比亞大學、加拿大蒙特婁大學、約克大學、牛津大學、薩塞克斯大學、都柏林聖三一學院、澳洲墨爾本大學、耶路撒冷希伯來大學、開普敦大學和愛德華多·蒙德拉納大學等均有一位得主,凸顯唐獎法治獎在全球的關注度與影響力。
