Tang Prize | About

Academia Sinica, Taiwan’s highest research institute, was commissioned by the Tang Prize Foundation to take charge of the nomination and selection process during the first and second Tang Prize award cycles (2013-14 and 2015-16). Beginning with the third cycle (from 2017 onward), this responsibility has been handed over to an independent selection committee formed in partial cooperation with Academia Sinica. The Tang Prize Selection Committee is composed of four separate committees, one per prize category. The committees, comprised of internationally renowned experts and scholars (including several Nobel Laureates), invite respected scholars and institutions from around the world to submit their nominations for deserved prize winners. The nomination process follows an invitation-based recommendation system.

Selection Committee
