Objective
This project will investigate the dynamics of the complex relationship between national constitutions and international law in current global conditions.
Content of Project
The project will map the features of the relationship between domestic constitutions and international law, historically and now.
It will be cast widely, across the fields of constitutional law and international law, including human rights law, international economic law, environmental law and international relations generally.
It will take account of the variable conditions of states and comparable polities of the world.
It will be designed to open a sustainable dialogue between the two bodies of law and practice.
It will identify principles and practices to underpin the relationship between these two areas of law for the future.
Expected Outcomes
The developments in scholarship fostered by this project will be communicated in a concept note or discussion paper and at least one major book project; possibly more.
